5 TIPS FOR AFFORDABLE BUSINESS BRANDING
My husband and I went to a baseball game Tuesday night. In the midst of the smell of hotdogs, the walk out music for the players, and the screams of delight from the kids next to me; I couldn’t help but notice all of the advertisements throughout the stadium. In this particular stadium, you would have to be blind to not see all of the Coca Cola advertisements! It was on the cups, the concession stands, and even the score board! Their advertising strategy at that game was on point!
Many people believe that if they are going to be successful in business, their marketing and branding strategy has to be as prevalent and as expensive as a big company like Coca Cola.
This could not be farther from the truth!
Let’s first pause and identify what branding is. Branding, put simply, is calling attention to one’s business through various forms of consistent methods. It is making sure that in all of your methods of advertising, you are communicating the same message.
So how do you do that if you are not a big company with a bottomless marketing budget?
Here are 5 methods that will help you promote your business without breaking the bank:
#1- Network. In today’s world of technology, it can seem like traditional network marketing is outdated. I am here to tell you that it is not! Handing out business cards and having face to face conversations is key in today’s society! It is the personal touch that will make your business stand out from all of the advertisements competing for your prospective client’s attention. (If you need a business card that communicates your business’s unique message and style, be sure to send me a message. I would love to help you out!)
#2- Share Happy Customer Testimonials. Placing testimonials on your website is a powerful way to build trust with your prospective client. If they see that someone else has had a positive experience, they are more likely to work with you.
#3- Keep an Eye on Your Online Reviews. As much as a happy customer’s review can help your business, a negative review could hurt your business. If you receive a negative review, do not just delete it. Respond back to the reviewer to see how you can remedy their negative experience.
#4- Use Social Media To Build Your Brand. Organic social media campaigns on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others are one of the best low-cost branding tactics. With that being said, don’t just use your page as a bulletin board for your promotions. While you should share about your product and sales, let that be only 20% of what you share on social media. The other 80% should be content that is helpful for your client. This content could include tips and tricks that help solve a problem that your potential client is facing. (If you need an example of these type helpful posts or would like an attractive post designed, send me a message! I would love to help you with that)
#5- Don’t Forget About Content Marketing. Posting blogs, videos, articles and other content can help your potential client see you as an expert in your field. Also posting these on your site helps people to find your website better.
These are just a few tips of business branding techniques that you can use. All of these tips are free unless you choose to outsource the management. The main thing is, you don’t have to have a budget the size of Coca Cola’s to effectively communicate your business’ brand.
